Mustangs get pwnd

pwnd:(urban dictionary)-Getting owned, or destroyed by someone.

That word is simply the most annoying word ever. My roommate tosses it about like he is something special while playing Call of Duty 4 all day, every day. "Dude, I just pwnd 3 noobs on COD 4. I upgraded to gunnery Sargent. I'm sooo cool right now." Umm, sorry Screech, you fail. However, recent events at my former school lead me to say that the Mustangs did indeed get pwnd. No, I am not exactly referring to the recent loss to Lutheran Northwest in girl's basketball, nor the humiliation (27-0 ring a bell?) endured during football, but rather the choices of a few members of what is left of the Black Hole. I believe signs like "You call this a rivalry?" and others directed at Lutheran Northwest's apparent inept athletic abilities were held up by members of the student section. See, the funny and pwnable thing about this situation is the fact that Northwest and their bigger, louder, and more creative crowd should have held those signs. Not only were the Mustangs defeated on the court, they lost in the stands, as the Black Hole was apparently blown away by the visiting Red Realtors or Red Realm or whatever they go by these days. Yeah, it wasn't a rivalry that night because the smaller school kicked big brother in the butt. Its a miracle Northwest can even field full teams, let alone beat the Mustangs. Nothing like enforcing the "cocky stuck-up Lutheran North kids" image by bringing over those ironic signs to the Red Resumes while you were losing. Enter that into the classic hall of fame.

Let's face it. Northwest is a rivalry, no matter what the year or sport. I loved every time we played Northwest, because they always brought their best game. Here's a lesson to those confused children in the student section: It is a rivalry, because the two schools have the word Lutheran in front of them. I have first hand experience of this passion, as some Northwest students made a Facebook group for me in response to some of my Black Hole videos and, well, "media attention" I attracted to LHN a few years back. Check out the group here, Aaron b is a tool, and please join. (Its all good, they don't hate me anymore, I think.) No matter what year, Northwest will make the games against North and Westland their season. It is a rivalry. Most of the time, Northwest manages to keep it really close. Some of the best basketball games were when North should have mopped the hapless Crusaders up with their shoelaces, yet NW managed to give a great game. Take away the fact that they have beat us at football already, its a rivalry. It always has been, and as long as the two schools exist, it always will be. I give lots of credit to Northwest. They have half the size of North, yet they care so much more than North does. How the Black Hole was outnumbered, I have no idea, but this isn't something new. They have always drawn large crowds. It wasn't until Rob Rotondo and a group of seniors who actually cared about supporting their school organized the students. North used to be the school with no students cheering, and now it may be that way again. So newsflash, before you write off Northwest as a pathetic excuse for a school like you tried the other night, make sure you at lest win the game.

At 7:49 on Feb. 18, I received a call from my dad and he informed me that my cat Murphy had died. He found her sprawled out dead on my parents bed. This is typical for Murphy, as she became more and more lazy the past few years. It was about 9 years old, but something was probably wrong with her. Pretty sad. I will miss ol' Murph. Enjoy the happy hunting grounds good friend.

I am trying to promote my site to a wider audience, so I have made a few changes. In the upper right, there is a button that says "subscribe in a reader" to this blog. By clicking that, a link is created in your favorites that gets updated every time I make a new post. You can also recive emails each time I put up a new entry. Simply insert your address into the "Subscribe via email" box on the right. I also put a link on my Facebook By becoming a fan of the blog on FB, you will get a FB notification every time I make a new blog entry. To become a fan, look on the right of this blog and find the box called "Link to Facebook" Click "follow my blog", and then you will be directed to Facebook where you can become a fan and get the notifications. There is some other technical stuff that I will explain when I figure it out tomorrow. I took down the music player; it was slowing down the page and didn't fit well. If there is anything I added that you don't like, please let me know. I also have to put this code in to verify some stuff so, so don't panic. BDV-738779-BDV

Grammys 2009

Ok, so normally, I couldn't care less about the Grammys, but there happens to be a little band called blink-182 reunited and presenting at the show on Sunday night. My favorite band, Angels and Airwaves, was formed after the breakup of blink-182, so I will be tuning in. I'm not a big fan of the immature early blink-182, but I do like the more serious stuff they did late in the band. Angels and Airwaves is totally different from blink, which gives me mixed feelings. I don't want to see blink-182 get back together at the cost of Angels and Airwaves, but it will be interesting to see the three members together, especially since their breakup almost 4 years ago was so ugly. This little addition will surely make this one of the bigger awards in recent years.

While I am on the topic of the Grammys, I will offer my insight to who should win the various awards. I'm not an expert, nor do I endorse any artist and their lifestyle.

Alison Krauss & Robert Plant, Raising Sand
Coldplay, Viva La Vida
Ne-Yo, Year Of The Gentleman
Lil Wayne, Tha Carter III
Radiohead, In Rainbows

Coldplay should get the nod here, I thought the album was different than much of the music around today, yet it remained popular on the radio. Their use of unusual sounds to create an epic atmosphere made this album really good. The Album art, taken from "Liberty Leading the People", is also a nice touch.

Alicia Keys and John Mayer, "Lessons Learned"
Madonna, Justin Timberlake, and Timbaland, "4 Minutes"
Robert Plant and Alison Krauss, "Rich Woman"
Rihanna and Maroon 5, "If I Never See Your Face Again"
Jordin Sparks and Chris Brown, "No Air"

Rihanna and Maroon 5 were the most unlikely collaboration, and they offered a great mix of their own styles to come up with something totally fresh. Great song to play when you are in a good mood. This was the most original and creative out of the whole bunch.

Kid Rock, "All Summer Long"
John Mayer, "Say"
Paul McCartney, "That Was Me"
Jason Mraz, "I'm Yours"
Ne-Yo, "Closer"
James Taylor, "Wichita Lineman"

John Mayer should win here. His song may have been overplayed, but it was good while it lasted. He captured emotions very well in this song. Sorry James and Paul, your prime passed a while ago. Kid Rock just copied from "Sweet Home Alabama".

Coldplay, "Viva La Vida"
Eagles, "Waiting In The Weeds"
Gnarls Barkle, "Going On"
Maroon 5, "Won't Go Home Without You"
OneRepublic, "Apologize"

Coldplay should win here. To be able to take their indie-sounding song and have mainstream success deserves credit. This was by far the biggest of the songs in this group. The Eagles are still a band? I was unaware.

Jay-Z, American Gangster
Lil Wayne, Tha Carter III
Lupe Fiasco, The Cool
T.I., Papertrail

The Jonas Brothers deserve this award.

Coldplay, Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends
Kid Rock, Rock N Roll Jesus
Kings Of Leon, Only By The Night
Metallica, Death Magnetic
Raconteurs, Consolers Of The Lonely

Coldplay again. I am not some die hard Coldplay fan, the rest of the choices are terrible.

"American Boy," William Adams, Keith Harris, Josh Lopez, Caleb Speir, John Stephens, Estelle Swaray & Kanye West, songwriters (Estelle Featuring Kanye West, artist)
"Chasing Pavements," Adele Adkins & Eg White, songwriters (Adele, artist)
"I'm Yours," Jason Mraz, songwriter (Jason Mraz, artist)
"Love Song," Sara Bareilles, songwriter (Sara Bareilles, artist)
"Viva La Vida," Guy Berryman, Jonny Buckland, Will Champion & Chris Martin, songwriters (Coldplay, artist)

Viva La Vida. I can't stand any other choices.

Erykah Badu, "Honey"
Gnarls Barkley, "Who's Gonna Save My Soul"
Alicia Keys & Jack White, "Another Way To Die"
Radiohead, "House Of Cards"
Weezer, "Pork & Beans"

Weezer's YouTube spoof was incredible. They included my favorite personality, Johnathan the zombie. I don't really like Weezer, but their video was hilarious. Ms. Carolina, GI Joe, Chris Crocker...LOL

Ok, so I reviewed some of the categories I was interested in. There are a bunch of others, and the all do not include Coldplay. There is a serious lack of good music lately, so back off! These are my opinions, you are entitled to your own.

Music Playlist

Ok, so I found this new-fangled music player for my blog. Good idea? Hate it? My goal is to find some soothing music for you to listen to while getting enraged with my stubborn opinions. Its an equilibrium so to speak. If you don't want to listen to soothing music, simply press the big round button on the player. If too many people complain, I will get rid of it. Also, if you have any requests, let me know, I would love to add appropriate music to the play list. Again, this is not set in stone, I could take it off if I wanted to.
I am not in the mood to write, but I feel bad because I have had 2 posts in 2 weeks. Here are a few quick hitters that I may come back upon.

-According to the groundhog/psychic, there are 6 more months of winter. Why do we listen to an animal that literally has his head in the ground?
-Obama's choice for Heath and Human Services, Tom Daschle, pulled his name from consideration because of tax fraud problems. Hey, it happens to all of us.
-I was tagged again in another Facebook "25 Things about yourself" note. LAME. No one cares about any ones "things". A cheap cry for attention.
-Print journalism is dead.
-The Super Bowl happened. The Boss was old.
-My roommate got a haircut and bears a striking resemblance to Chet Morton from the Hardy Boys.
-Why are people so excited about eh library not charging the pilot for the book he lost in the Hudson River during the plane crash? Like a $20 book is such a big deal.
-The Pistons are dead.
-Michigan basketball is dying.
-horizontal stripes are thinning.
-I have a YouTube channel that you should subscribe to at

So that's it. Goodnight.
